FUN DIVES

At Big Bubble the dive boat leaves twice a day at 10am (we try to keep to civilised times!) and at 2pm - there are
also NIGHT DIVES available. All the dive sites are about 10 – 20 minutes away from the shop, meaning you get to
spend your time diving rather than travelling. There is also oxygen, an emergency first aid kit, fresh water and
telephones onboard. Big Bubble is famous for its experienced guides and small groups. There is a maximum of four
divers to every guide – making your dive feel more relaxed and organised. It doesn’t matter whether you’re very
experienced or just a beginner, the staff at Big Bubble will plan the best dive for your level and help you to gain
confidence with your diving. Diving around the Gili’s usually means a DRIFT dive. Experienced boat captains pick
up buddy teams at the end of each dive. At Big Bubble there are NO maximum dive times – it just depends on
deco-times and how good you and your buddy are with air – ensuring you get to see the very best of every dive site.
There is a huge variety of dive site topography including walls, canyons and slopes. Most reefs start at 5 metres
and slope away from the islands making them ideal for everyone. There are deeper sites for the more experienced
divers, which are famous for 100% coral.

Big Bubble dive all the sites around the Gili Islands (See DIVE SITE MAP). Typical sightings include Loggerhead and
Hawk’s Bill Turtles, sometimes in huge numbers, White-Tip and Black-Tip Reef Sharks, Stingrays, Cuttlefish, Lionfish,
Snappers, Tunas, Barracuda, Moray Eels, Sea Snakes, Octopus and much much more. There are sightings of Manta
Rays throughout the year, and you could see almost anything else – it just depends on how good your eyesight is!
***PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM JANUARY 2006 PADI REQUIRES ALL STUDENT DIVERS TO HAVE THEIR OWN
STUDY MATERIALS. YOU CAN BUY EVERYTHING YOU NEED FROM BIG BUBBLE, BUT THIS IS AN ADDITIONAL
COST TO THE PRICE OF THE COURSE QUOTED BELOW. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION.***

or higher qualification.

4. Open Water Course - $300US:
A three/four day course, which includes theory, videos, two swimming pool sessions, and four dives, two to 12m and

or higher.
5. Advanced Open Water Course - $225US:
This two day, five dive course, is really practical and a lot of fun. Not much reading and a lot of diving, putting your
skills to the test in the water. To complete the Advanced Course you must do the DEEP Dive and the NAVIGATION
dive. You can then choose from other dives like, night diving, underwater photography, multi-level computer diving,
peak performance buoyancy, naturalist and fish identifcation, to make up the other three dives.

6. Adventure Dives - $50US:
If you don’t have time for the whole of the Advanced Course you can do individual dives, which qualify towards the
Advanced Course. Want to dive to 30m? Then just take the Deep Dive Adventure Diver – which permenantly

same price we also offer E.F.R for Children.

8. Rescue Diver - $300US:
This four day course is designed to give you the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent and/or deal with any
problems or emergencies relating to diving. Dealing with stressful situations to help save lives, the Rescue Diver
Course is extremely rewarding and will ensure you feel more comfortable and in control when diving.
9. Divemaster - $650US for 4 weeks:
Becoming a Divemaster takes you on to the first professional rung of the PADI ladder. The course usually takes
four weeks and works like an internship. You will be expected to help out like a member of staff, as well as complete
dive theory, assist the instructors, give dive briefings, guide certified divers, make a map of one of our dive sites,
demonstrate skills to, and help, students and much much more. You have UNLIMITED diving for the whole month.
This is an excellent course for those who want to further their diving career, or just want to learn more and get to
know how a dive shop operates.

There are other courses available from specialist courses through to NITROX diving.
For more information about any of these dives please contact us at BIG BUBBLE.
Every dive shop on Gili Trawangan is a member of the GILI ECO TRUST, a non-profit organisation set up to protect
the coral reefs surrounding the island and provide environmental education. As part of this the dive schools adopted
a pricing policy, to prevent competition between the shops. All of the prices shown above reflect the G.E.T policy
and are subject to change. We will do our best to update the website as often as possible, but please email us to
double check any prices before booking.

There is also a “ONE TIME ONLY” reef tax of 30,000rp payable by all divers and students. It is this reef tax that
funds the work of the G.E.T.

All of the courses described above start daily, and can be organised to suit your requirements and schedule. For
more information and bookings please email us and we can arrange something to suit you.
