The PADI Divemaster Course is the first professional dive certification course and covers all aspects of diving. The theory covers the physics and physiology of diving along with how to assist with students and certified divers, environmental conditions affecting diving, equipment for diving, dive theory and decompression theory as well as what you will be able to do once you are certified as a PADI Divemaster. You would need to be Rescue certified and with 40 logged dives to enroll in this program. This course is then usually run over 4 – 6 weeks with unlimited diving during. You will also learn how to map one of the Gili Islands’ dive sites. You will need to have experience of deep and night diving plus 60 logged dives to certify as a Divemaster upon completion of the course.
Don’t worry if you don’t yet meet some of the requirements as we can help you out with this!
The course is intense but great fun and you will be taught how to be a good role model for students and how to teach refresher courses and other Divemaster programs too. At Big Bubble we dive twice daily which allows time for theory in between and instructors may program evening lectures with you so as to be free during the day for diving. You will become part of the Big Bubble family and learn how to sell diving and the dynamics of how our dive shop is run. At any one time, the most Divemaster trainees we take on is 4. This means you will work with different instructors on courses each week and not have to wait around for instructors to become free. The PADI Divemaster Course will provide you with all the theory about diving and will help you to decide if a career as a diving instructor is something to consider, or just to stay as a Divemaster for your future in diving.
