Halik reef is located on the north tip of Gili Trawangan and is perfect for both beginners and more experienced divers. The shallow part of this site begins at around 4m with a small wall going down to 12m consisting of a very colourful hard coral reef where big schools of drummers and rainbow runners can be seen passing by as well as a variety of other reef life. Further along the dive site the reef changes to soft coral which is home to many turtles and a perfect place to spend the safety stop watching them forage for food. The deeper part of Halik continues into beautiful coral ridges down to 30m+, providing the more experienced divers with an opportunity to see some bigger fish life such as sharks, trevallies and the occasional big ray, whilst still being able to extend the dive time by moving up into the shallows.

Shark point is one of the most requested dive sites and is situated on the north west of Gili Trawangan. Starting at around 8metres with a huge soft coral area, beginner divers get the chance to see why the Gilis are known as the ‘Turtle Capital of the World’ with an abundance of both green and hawksbill turtles. The reef continues down to 18m where all sorts of life such as moray eels, lobsters and cuttlefish can be spotted. Following the ridges all the way down to 30m, advanced get to experience a unique part of the dive site know as ‘Jack Point’ where a huge resident school of Jacks are known to stay circling overhead, as well as having a good chance of seeing black and white-tip reef sharks and numerous blue-spotted stingrays.

There is also a large wreck in the deep part of Shark Point which has created an artificial reef which many different types of fish now hang out.

Often done as a drift dive, Shark Point can offer divers of all levels something to see.

A favourite spot for anyone hoping to see as many turtles as possible in one dive – Turtle Heaven lives up to its name! One central pinnacle provides divers of all levels with the opportunity to also see clownfish, lionfish and enormous schools of damsel fish swimming around on all sides while trevallies dart around hunting. After leaving the pinnacle, divers can then drift along the coral slope looking out for octopus, mantis shrimps and many others hiding amongst the rocky outcrops.

Manta Point offers some of the best coral around the Gilis, with a gently sloping reef from 10m down to around 25m where you can often spot white-tip reef sharks resting on the sandy bottom and schools of yellow snappers hovering over the edge of the reef. Heading back into the shallow area you are likely to spot a couple of turtles and often a cuttlefish or two amongst other reef fish as well as the chance of seeing a black-tip reef shark passing by. Being a very large dive site with usually very little current, Manta Point is perfect for a long, relaxed dive to take in the beautiful corals and fish life.

The Bounty Wreck, once a floating platform on Gili Meno, has over the years become a great artificial reef, with corals growing in abundance all over. This in turn has attracted a lot of reef fish such as batfish, snappers and scorpion fish which live on and around the platform. The wreck itself lies in around 17m of water, while swimming over the top takes you up to around 8m, meaning it is suitable for all level of divers who would like to explore it.

The Biorocks is an artificial reef set-up and maintained by The Gili Eco Trust to help coral growth and therefore encourage an increase in other reef life. There are now many biorocks and each has a different design (manta ray/dolphin etc) and due to a small electric current run through the metal structure, coral grows here 5 times faster than it would otherwise, providing the fish life with an inviting place to live. As well as the biorocks themselves this dive site with its sloping sandy bottom is a great place to search for fascinating creatures such as frogfish, ghost pipe fish, stonefish , octopus and cuttlefish. This is also a favourite amongst night divers hoping to spot some unusual critters.

Often done as a drift dive, Deep Turbo is a great dive site for those looking for an adventurous dive – as the site is at 25-30m it is for advanced divers only – however if you are not advanced you can do this site by completing the ‘adventure deep’ dive. A sandy bottom with beautiful coral covered pinnacles, Deep Turbo is a fantastic dive with the chance of spotting some bigger fish life coming through such as the occasional Manta Ray, Eagle Ray, Reef shark or Giant Trevally. With a unique topography this dive site is popular with those advanced divers wanting to try out something different.

A beautiful dive site, Mirkos begins at 12m with ridges extending down to 30m and beyond with a huge variety of some of the best hard corals in the area. Take in the huge table corals spread over the dive site whilst searching for pygmy seahorses, frogfish, leaf scorpion fish and also the occasional reef shark cruising past.

Han’s reef sits on a sandy bottom with several big bommies and is great for those divers who would like to do some macro diving. Commonly spotted here are ribbon eels, pipefish, leaf scorpionfish and several juvenile fish species. With usually minimal current, divers can head from one bommie to the next searching for some of the more elusive species found around the Gilis, at a depth of between 6 and 22m.

On the west coast of Gili Meno and just 5 mins from our dive shop, Meno Wall is perfect for all levels of dive certification. There are actually two walls, the first starting at about 12-15m in depth and the second wall a little deeper at 20-22m. All kinds of reef fish cover the coral walls, making it a very colourful dive. The dive will often end up on Meno Slope so you do two dive sites in one! This is also a famous “night diving” spot too.

Also on the west side of Gili Meno and only 5mins away by boat, Meno Slope is a sandy bottom covered in bommies and is home to plenty of turtles, eels, scorpion fish and occasional rays. The dive site runs into Meno Wall if the current is going that way, or can go the other way down to the Bounty Platform too.

This is another wall dive and again it is very colourful as all the corals are healthy. The dive site is perfect for all levels of divers too as even beginners can explore the reef at the top of the wall. For more experienced divers, the wall continues to about 26m deep and in the sandy bottom area you will often spot stingrays.

This is a must-see dive site off the coast of Lombok for divers who love muck diving. There is no coral reef to be seen here –instead we search the silty bottom for some unique critters we don’t see anywhere else. A few things you may spot here are seahorses, frogfish, blue-ring and mimic octopus, ghost pipefish, bobtail squid and all sorts of nudibranches. We normally offer this trip as a two tank dive – one day dive and one night dive.

‘Muck diving’ is mainly over sand or silt but with hundreds of little species to find in the sandy areas – good for anyone who has done a few dives and wants to try something a bit different.

This is a dive site that is great for advanced divers, with one very large pinnacle starting at around 20m down to 30m. Often pygmy seahorses can be found disguised on coral fans on the deeper part along with reef sharks and turtles. Scorpion fish and cuttlefish often spotted on the top of the pinnacle where glassfish swarm around a large area of mushroom coral.

Similar to Deep Turbo, Takat Malang is a huge area of coral covered pinnacles set on a sandy bottom. With many of the pinnacles sitting at a depth or 25-30m, this is a site for advanced divers. Sharks and turtles along with schooling fish and beautiful corals make this a very pretty dive site. Tuna and Spanish mackerels cruise this dive site too so keep an eye out into the blue too!
